How to trust in God's deliverance?
What actions can we take to rely on God's deliverance in our lives?

Setting the Scene

Exodus 14:25: “So He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, ‘Let us flee from Israel before the LORD, for the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt.’”

God’s intervention is so tangible that even His enemies acknowledge it. The moment captures how deliverance belongs to the LORD, yet Israel still had to walk forward between the walls of water. That balance—God’s power and our response—shapes the actions we can take today.

Action 1: Recognize Who Fights for You

• Pause and confess, “The LORD is fighting for me.” (Exodus 14:14; Romans 8:31)

• Replace self-reliance with God-reliance: shift your inner dialogue from “How will I manage?” to “How will God show His strength?”

• Let worship music, memorized verses, and testimonies remind you that deliverance is His specialty (Psalm 18:2).

Action 2: Keep Moving Forward in Obedience

• Israel still walked through the sea; God didn’t carry them (Exodus 14:21-22).

• Take the next right step God has already revealed—no matter how small. Obedience positions you to experience His rescue (James 1:22).

• Refuse paralysis. Fear says “freeze”; faith says “advance” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Action 3: Stand Firm When He Says ‘Stand’

• Before the waters parted, Moses commanded, “Stand firm and you will see the LORD’s salvation” (Exodus 14:13).

• Some battles require waiting, not striving (2 Chronicles 20:17).

• Standing firm means holding ground in prayer, in integrity, and in confidence—even when circumstances haven’t changed yet (Ephesians 6:13).

Action 4: Let Fear Flee, Not You

• The Egyptians fled because they sensed God’s judgment; believers stand because we’re under His favor (Isaiah 41:10).

• Identify fear’s voice—usually urgent, hopeless, accusatory—and answer it with Scripture (Psalm 27:1).

• Speak truth aloud; fear loses power in the light of God’s promises (John 8:32).

Action 5: Record and Rehearse His Past Deliverances

• After crossing, Moses and Israel sang a song of deliverance (Exodus 15:1-2).

• Keep a journal or digital list of answered prayers. Revisit it during new trials (Psalm 77:11-12).

• Share your stories; testimony boosts faith in the wider community (Revelation 12:11).

Action 6: Expect the Enemy’s Wheels to Jam, Not Yours

• Notice the detail: God targets the enemy’s mobility, not Israel’s (Exodus 14:25).

• Pray specifically for confusion in schemes set against you and clarity in your own path (Psalm 35:4-5).

• Trust that God custom-fits His intervention—sometimes muddy wheels, sometimes opened doors, always in perfect timing.

Action 7: Walk in Daily Dependence, Not Occasional Crisis Mode

• Deliverance isn’t a one-time event but a lifestyle of leaning on God (2 Corinthians 1:10).

• Begin each day acknowledging your need: “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11).

• Choose continual surrender over emergency prayers; it keeps your heart steady when storms arise.

Bringing It All Together

Recognize His fight, move in obedience, stand firm, let fear flee, remember past victories, watch the enemy stall, and practice daily dependence. These actions keep our hearts aligned with the God who still parts seas and jams chariot wheels—secure in the certainty that His deliverance is as real today as it was on the shores of the Red Sea.
