Recognize God's blessings in leadership?
How can we recognize and appreciate God's blessings in our own leadership roles?

What the Queen Saw

“Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel, He has made you king to carry out justice and righteousness.” (1 Kings 10:9)

• The Queen of Sheba marvels first at God, not Solomon.

• She identifies the throne as God’s placement, not human achievement.

• She ties Solomon’s role to a clear purpose: “justice and righteousness.”

Recognizing God’s Blessings in Our Leadership

• Start with the Source

– “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17).

– Promotion comes “neither from the east nor the west… God is the Judge; He brings one down and exalts another” (Psalm 75:6-7).

• Notice Divine Delight

– God “has delighted in you.” If He called you, He also enjoys using you (Psalm 147:11).

– Healthy leadership begins with resting in His favor, not striving for man’s applause.

• Remember Covenant Love

– Leadership gifts flow out of His “eternal love” (Jeremiah 31:3).

– His love steadies us when criticism comes and sustains us when energy fades.

• Identify the Assignment

– Solomon’s mandate: “justice and righteousness.”

– Ours may vary in scope, but the core remains: reflect God’s character in decisions (Micah 6:8).

Moving from Recognition to Appreciation

• Express Praise Immediately

– Like the queen, let worship rise the moment success shows up.

• Practice Thankful Stewardship

– Manage time, people, and resources as borrowed assets (1 Corinthians 4:2).

• Celebrate Outcomes That Mirror His Heart

– When fairness increases, praise Him.

– When reconciliation happens, acknowledge His hand.

Practical Reminders for Everyday Leadership

• Begin each plan by seeking wisdom (James 1:5).

• Keep short accounts—confess pride quickly (Proverbs 16:18).

• Mentor emerging leaders; God’s blessings multiply when shared (2 Timothy 2:2).

• Measure success by faithfulness and fruit, not headline stats (John 15:5).

• Stay mindful: “To whom much is given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48).
