How can we seek Jesus' guidance as He walked in Solomon's Colonnade? Walking with Jesus in ordinary spaces John 10:23 tells us, “and Jesus was walking in the temple courts in Solomon’s Colonnade.” He chose a public walkway, not a lofty throne room. • Remember that He still meets us in halls, offices, kitchens, and sidewalks. • Start each day acknowledging, “Lord, You are already here; help me notice Your steps beside mine.” • Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Listening for the Shepherd’s voice John 10:27: “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” • Read Scripture aloud; His voice is clearest in His Word. • Pause after reading to let the Spirit highlight a phrase or command. • James 1:22 urges, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” Action confirms you heard Him. Staying under His covering A colonnade offered shade and shelter. Jesus still provides covering. • Psalm 91:1: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” • Abide by keeping short accounts with sin (1 John 1:9). • Yield anxious thoughts to Him; Philippians 4:6-7 promises guarded hearts and minds. Following His proven path Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart… He will make your paths straight.” • When a choice arises, ask, “Which option lets me keep in step with the character of Christ I see in Scripture?” • If unsure, delay major moves until peace replaces pressure (Colossians 3:15). Resting in His security John 10:28: “I give them eternal life… no one will snatch them out of My hand.” • Guidance is not fragile; mistakes can’t unseat His grip. • Rehearse His promises out loud when fear whispers. • Psalm 23:3: “He restores my soul; He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Putting it into practice today 1. Read John 10:22-30 slowly; note every reference to hearing, knowing, and following. 2. List one decision you face. Write a verse that directly speaks to it. 3. Share that verse with a trusted believer; invite accountability to obey it. 4. End the day thanking Jesus for one moment you sensed His presence in your “colonnade.” |
