Trusting God for daily provision?
How can we trust God to "give us bread" in our daily lives?

Scripture Focus

“Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

What “Bread” Embraces

• Literal food on the table

• Every resource required for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3)

• Strength for each day’s challenges (Deuteronomy 33:25)

Why We Can Trust God

• He has a proven track record

– “I have been young and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.” Psalm 37:25

– Manna every dawn for forty years (Exodus 16:4, 35)

• He pledges Himself to provide

– “My God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

• He knows in advance what we require

– “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:8

• He links provision to seeking His rule

– “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

Practical Steps for Daily Trust

• Ask specifically each morning—then leave the timing and method with Him.

• Thank Him for ordinary meals; gratitude trains the heart to notice His hand.

• Refuse anxious rehearsals of “what if.” Quote Matthew 6:31: “Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’”

• Work diligently; provision often flows through the ordinary labor He assigns (Proverbs 10:4).

• Share when He prompts; generosity demonstrates confidence that He can refill the basket (Luke 6:38).

Living It Out

Today you can walk into the kitchen, the office, or the unknown future convinced that the same Lord who rained bread in the wilderness and fed five thousand with a boy’s lunch is still on duty. Expect enough for today, watch Him deliver, and be ready to tell the story tomorrow.

What doubts about God's provision are expressed in Psalm 78:20?
