How can we "fear and worship" God in our daily lives today? Verse Spotlight: Deuteronomy 10:21 “He is your praise and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome wonders that your eyes have seen.” Fear and Worship—Two Parts of One Devotion - “Fear” recognizes God’s unrivaled majesty (Exodus 20:20; Psalm 111:10). - “Worship” responds with heartfelt praise and obedient living (John 4:24; Romans 12:1). - Together they create a life that exalts the Lord in both attitude and action. Living in Holy Awe Each Day - Recall His mighty works—salvation in Christ, answered prayers, daily provisions. - Speak of His greatness in conversations, refusing to reduce Him to ordinary status. - Cultivate humility by confessing sins quickly and receiving His cleansing (1 John 1:9). - Guard the mind—avoid anything that trivializes or mocks the things of God. - Stand for truth graciously, even when it costs social comfort (Matthew 10:32). Whole-Life Worship in Practice - Start and end the day with Scripture and thanksgiving (Psalm 92:1-2). - Obey promptly—treat every command as non-negotiable (John 14:15). - Serve others as though serving Christ Himself (Matthew 25:40; Colossians 3:23-24). - Steward time, money, and talents for kingdom purposes, acknowledging Him as Owner (1 Corinthians 4:2). - Gather faithfully with believers for corporate praise and mutual encouragement (Hebrews 10:24-25). - Keep a grateful tongue—sing, speak, and write words that magnify His name (Psalm 34:1). Scriptures That Anchor These Practices - Proverbs 1:7—“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.” - Ecclesiastes 12:13—“Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” - Hebrews 12:28—“Let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” - Colossians 3:17—“Whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18—“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances.” Daily Reminder God Himself is our praise. Remember His wonders, revere His holiness, and let every moment become an offering that declares His worth. |
