Ways to honor God in church today?
How can we glorify God in the church and in Christ Jesus today?

The Foundation: Ephesians 3:21

“to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Glorifying God Together in the Church

• Unite around the gospel. “Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ… standing firm in one spirit, with one mind” (Philippians 1:27).

• Pursue loving fellowship. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).

• Gather for wholehearted worship. “Come, let us worship and bow down” (Psalm 95:6). Our singing, praying, giving, and listening declare His worth.

• Guard doctrinal truth. “The church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). Holding Scripture’s literal, inerrant words protects His glory.

• Exercise spiritual gifts. “Serve one another, each according to the gift he has received… so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 4:10-11).

• Practice sacrificial generosity. “They shared all that they had… praising God” (Acts 2:44-47). Meeting needs displays His abundant grace.

• Walk in holiness. “Be holy, because I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). A purified bride reflects her Lord.

Glorifying God Personally in Christ Jesus

• Abide in Him daily. “Apart from Me you can do nothing… By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit” (John 15:5, 8).

• Obey His Word. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Obedience shines His character.

• Offer your body as a living sacrifice. “This is your spiritual service of worship” (Romans 12:1).

• Speak and act for His honor. “Whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

• Shine good works before a watching world. “Let your light shine… so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

• Endure trials with faith. “When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). Steadfast trust magnifies His faithfulness.

• Share the gospel. “Proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness” (1 Peter 2:9). Every testimony exalts Christ’s saving power.

Living It Out Generation after Generation

• Teach children diligently (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

• Model faith and repentance before them (Psalm 78:5-7).

• Entrust biblical truth to faithful disciples who will teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).

• Support global missions so “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD” (Habakkuk 2:14).

A Final Word of Praise

Glory belongs to the Father now and forever, made visible in a faithful church and in lives hidden with Christ. Each act of worship, obedience, and witness becomes another echo of Ephesians 3:21—amplifying His glory “throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
