1And Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because he had married a Cushite woman, a woman of Cush (an Ethiopian). 2And they said, “Has the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken by us, also?” And the LORD heard it. 3(Now the man Moses was very meek, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.) 4And the LORD spoke immediately to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “Come out, you three, to the tabernacle of meeting.” And the three came out. 5And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the entrance of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6And He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will make Myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream. 7 But this is not true of My servant Moses, who is most faithful of all My house. 8With him I speak face to face, plainly, and not in riddles; and he has beheld the form of the LORD. Why, then, were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?” 9And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and He departed. 10And the cloud lifted from over the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam’s skin became leprous - white as snow: and Aaron looked at Miriam, and saw that she was leprous. 11And Aaron said to Moses, “Alas, my lord, I beg you, do not lay this sin, that we have so foolishly committed, upon us. 12Do not let her be as one that is dead, like one whose flesh is half consumed when he is born.” 13And Moses cried to the LORD, saying, “O God, I beseech You, heal her now.” 14And the LORD replied to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp for seven days, and after that let her be restored again.” 15And Miriam was isolated from the camp for seven days: and the people did not resume their journey until Miriam was restored again. 16And after that, the people moved from Hazeroth, and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
