1Praise the LORD; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is fitting. 2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel together. 3He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. 4He establishes the number of the stars; He calls them all by their names. 5Great is our LORD; His power and understanding are infinite. 6He supports the meek and humble; but throws the wicked to the ground. 7Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; make music upon the harp and sing praises to our God, 8Who covers the sky with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and causes grass to grow upon the hills. 9He provides food for wild animals, and for the young ravens when they call. 10His delight is not in the strength of the horse; nor that of a man. 11The LORD takes pleasure in those who honor and fear Him, in those who trust in His mercy. 12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. 13For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within your gates. 14He grants peace within your borders, and fills you with the finest of the wheat. 15He sends His command to the earth; His word travels very swiftly. 16He spreads snow like white wool; and scatters the frost like ashes. 17He hurls hail like ice pebbles; who can withstand His freezing cold? 18He sends out His word, and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters thaw and flow. 19He has revealed His word to Jacob, His laws and statutes to Israel. 20He has not dealt so with any other nation; nor have other nations known His laws. Praise you the LORD. Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser. Used by Permission. All rights Reserved. Bible Hub |
