And after you have suffered for a little while,

Peter writes to believers enduring hostility, rejection, and persecution because of their faith in Christ. Suffering belongs to the present age, but it is limited by God’s purpose and measured against eternity. Jesus Himself suffered before entering glory, and His people follow Him through trials with the assurance that suffering will not have the final word. Present affliction is momentary when compared with the eternal weight of glory promised to those who belong to Christ.

the God of all grace,

God is the unfailing source of every provision needed for salvation, perseverance, comfort, and holiness. His grace does not merely forgive sin; it sustains His people in weakness and supplies strength when human resources fail. Believers endure because God remains generous, faithful, and near.
