In the Old Testament, God's protection over His work is often demonstrated through His covenant with Israel. The nation of Israel was chosen to be a vessel for God's purposes, and His protection over them is a testament to His faithfulness. In Exodus 14:13-14 , Moses reassures the Israelites as they face the Egyptian army: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the LORD’s salvation, which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.
