Life: A Divine Gift

In Genesis 1:27, it is written, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." This foundational verse underscores the inherent value and dignity of human life, as humanity is made in the image of God. The creation narrative emphasizes that life is sacred and should be treated with reverence and respect.

The sanctity of life is further highlighted in Psalm 139:13-14, where the psalmist declares, "For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Prohibition Against Taking Life

Eternal Perspective

The biblical perspective on life and death is ultimately framed by an eternal outlook. In Philippians 1:21, Paul writes, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." This reflects the belief that life on earth is a temporary journey, and death is a gateway to eternal communion with God. The hope of eternal life encourages believers to live with purpose and to respect both life and death as integral parts of God's divine plan.
