The term "scarest" does not appear directly in the Bible; however, it can be understood in the context of fear, anxiety, and the human response to divine encounters or challenging situations. The Bible frequently addresses the concept of fear, both in terms of the fear of the Lord and the fear that arises from worldly concerns.

Fear of the Lord

The fear of the Lord is a recurring theme in Scripture, often associated with wisdom, reverence, and obedience. Proverbs 9:10 states, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" . This type of fear is not about being scared but rather about having a deep respect and awe for God's power and holiness. It is considered the foundation of a righteous life, leading to blessings and a deeper relationship with God.

Worldly Fear and Anxiety

In contrast to the fear of the Lord, the Bible also addresses the fear and anxiety that stem from worldly concerns. Jesus speaks directly to this in Matthew 6:25-34, where He encourages His followers not to worry about their lives, what they will eat or drink, or about their bodies and what they will wear. He assures them of God's provision, saying, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33).

The Apostle Paul also addresses anxiety in Philippians 4:6-7, urging believers, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" . This passage highlights the importance of prayer and trust in God as antidotes to fear and anxiety.

Divine Encounters and Human Fear

Throughout the Bible, encounters with the divine often evoke fear in individuals. When angels appear to humans, their first words are frequently "Do not be afraid." For example, in Luke 2:10, the angel reassures the shepherds, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people" . This pattern underscores the natural human response to the supernatural and the reassurance that God provides.

Fear in the Face of Trials

The Bible also addresses fear in the context of trials and persecution. In 2 Timothy 1:7, Paul reminds Timothy, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" . This verse encourages believers to rely on the Holy Spirit's empowerment rather than succumbing to fear.

Similarly, in the Old Testament, God frequently commands His people to be strong and courageous in the face of adversity. In Joshua 1:9, God instructs Joshua, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go" . This assurance of God's presence is a central theme in overcoming fear.

Conclusion

While the term "scarest" itself is not found in the Bible, the Scriptures provide extensive guidance on the nature of fear, distinguishing between the reverent fear of the Lord and the fear that arises from earthly concerns. Through faith, prayer, and reliance on God's promises, believers are encouraged to overcome fear and live in the peace and assurance of God's presence and provision.
