Silvanus is also noted for his role in the authorship of several New Testament epistles. He is mentioned as a co-author with Paul in the letters to the Thessalonians. In 1 Thessalonians 1:1 , it states, "Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you." His inclusion in the greeting signifies his integral role in the ministry and his close partnership with Paul.

Furthermore, Silvanus is identified as the scribe or secretary for the Apostle Peter in the writing of 1 Peter. In 1 Peter 5:12 , Peter writes, "With the help of Silvanus, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it." This acknowledgment by Peter attests to Silvanus's reliability and dedication to the truth of the Gospel.
