Deliverance for Jerusalem

1Awake, awake!

Put on your strength, O Zion!

Put on the garments of your beauty,

O Jerusalem, the holy city!

For will no longer will they enter into you again—

the uncircumcised and unclean.

2Shake yourself from the dust!

Arise, sit down, O Jerusalem!

Loose yourself from the bonds on your neck,

O captive daughter of Zion!

3For thus says YHWH:

“You⁺ were sold for nothing,

and without money you⁺ will be redeemed.”

4For thus says the Lord YHWH:

“My people went down to Egypt at first, to dwell there,

and Assyria has oppressed them without cause.

5And what is for Me here,

a declaration of YHWH,

that My people are taken away for nothing?

Those ruling over him taunt, a declaration of YHWH,

and continually and all the day

My name is blasphemed.

6Therefore My people will know My name,

therefore, on that day.

Indeed I am He—the One speaking;

Here I am!”

7How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet

of the one bringing good news,

proclaiming peace—bringing news of good things,

proclaiming salvation—

saying to Zion: “Your God reigns!”

8The voice of your watchmen—they lift up the voice,

together they shall sing out;

for every eye will see

the returning of YHWH to Zion.

9Break forth, sing out together,

O ruins of Jerusalem!

For YHWH has comforted His people;

He has redeemed Jerusalem.

10YHWH has bared the arm of His holiness

before the eyes of all the nations;

and all the ends of the earth will see

the salvation of our God.

11Turn aside, turn aside! Go out from there!

An unclean thing you⁺ will not touch!

Go out from her midst, purify yourselves,

ones bearing the vessels of YHWH.

12But not with haste will you⁺ go forth,

and in flight you⁺ will not go;

for YHWH goes before you⁺,

and the God of Israel gathers you⁺.

The Servant Exalted
(Philippians 2:5–11)

13Behold, My Servant will prosper;

he will rise up, and be lifted up and highly exalted.

14Just as many were dismayed at Him

His appearance was so disfigured beyond any man,

and his form beyond any sons of man—

15so He will sprinkle many nations.

Kings will shut their mouths because of him.

For what had not been recounted to them, they will see,

and what they had not heard, they will understand.
