Prayer for the Son 1Jesus spoke these things, and having lifted up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son† may glorify You,
as You gave to Him authority over all flesh,† so that all whom You have given to Him, He may give† to them eternal life.
Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You sent.
I glorified You on the earth, having completed† the work that You have given to Me that I should do.
And now, glorify Me—You, Father, with Yourself—with the glory that I had with You before the world existed.
Prayer for the Disciples 6I revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and to Me You gave them, and they have kept Your word.
Now they have known that all things, as many as You have given to Me, are from You.
For the words that You gave to Me, I have given them, and they received them, and they knew truly that I came forth from You; and they believed that You sent Me.
I ask concerning them. I do not ask concerning the world, but concerning those whom You have given to Me, for they are Yours.
And all things of Mine are Yours⁺, and Yours⁺ Mine. And I have been glorified in them.
And I am no longer in the world, and they are themselves in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given to Me,† so that they may be one as We are.
When I was with them,† I was keeping them in Your name, which You have given to Me.† And I guarded them, and none of them perished except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
But now I am coming to You, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have My joy fulfilled within them.
I have given to them Your word, and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
I do not ask that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from evil.†
They are not of the world, as I am not of the world.
Sanctify them in the truth;† Your word is truth.
As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world;
and for them I sanctify Myself, so that they also may be sanctified in truth.
Prayer for All Believers 20But I do not ask for these only, but also for those believing in Me through their word,
that all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be† in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
And I have given to them the glory that You have given to Me, so that they may be one as We are one—
I in them and You in Me—so that they may be perfected in unity, so that† the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me.
Father, those whom You have given to Me, I want that they also may be with Me where I am, so that they may behold My glory that You have given to Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, although the world did not know You, yet I knew You, and these knew that You sent Me.
And I made known to them Your name and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
