Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
(Matthew 12:9–14; Luke 6:6–11)

1And He entered into the synagogue again, and a man having a withered hand was there. 2And they were watching Him, whether He will heal him on the Sabbaths, so that they might accuse Him.

3And He says to the man having the withered hand, “Arise into the midst.” 4And He says to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbaths to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?”

But they were silent.

5And having looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardness of their heart, He says to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

6And the Pharisees, having gone out, immediately were taking counsel with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

Jesus Heals the Multitudes
(Matthew 4:23–25; Luke 6:17–19)

7And Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed, and from Judea, 8and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, having heard how much He was doing, came to Him.

9And He spoke to His disciples so that a boat may wait on Him because of the crowd, so that they might not press upon Him. 10For He healed many, so as for as many as had afflictions to fall upon Him so that they might touch Him. 11And the unclean spirits, when they were seeing Him, were falling down before Him and crying out, saying, “You are the Son of God!” 12And He was warning them much that they should not make Him known.

The Twelve Apostles
(Matthew 10:1–4; Luke 6:12–16)

13And He goes up onto the mountain, and He summons those whom He Himself was wanting, and they went away to Him. 14And He appointed twelve, whom also He named apostles, that they might be with Him and that He might send them to preach 15and to have authority to cast out demons.

16And He appointed the Twelve: And to Simon He added the name Peter, 17and James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, and He added to them the name Boanerges, which is Sons of Thunder, 18and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananean, 19and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

A House Divided
(Matthew 12:22–30; Luke 11:14–23)

20And He comes to a house and a crowd comes together again, so that not even are they able to eat bread. 21And having heard, those belonging to Him went out to seize Him; for they were saying that He was out of His mind.

22And the scribes, those from Jerusalem, having come down, were saying, “He has Beelzebul,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out the demons.”

23And having summoned them, He was saying to them in parables, “How is Satan able to cast out Satan? 24And if a kingdom may be divided against itself, that kingdom is not able to stand. 25And if a house may be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26And if Satan rose up against himself and was divided, he is not able to stand, but he has an end. 27But no one is able, having entered into the house of the strong man, to plunder his goods, unless first he should bind the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

The Unpardonable Sin
(Matthew 12:31–32)

28Truly I say to you⁺ that all sins and blasphemies will be forgiven the sons of men, as many as they may blaspheme. 29But whoever may blaspheme in regard to the Holy Spirit does not have forgiveness to the age, but is guilty of eternal sin.

30For they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Jesus’ Mother and Brothers
(Matthew 12:46–50; Luke 8:19–21)

31And His mother and His brothers come, and standing outside, they sent to Him, calling Him. 32And a crowd was sitting around Him, and they say to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers outside seek You.”

33And answering them, He says, “Who are My mother and My brothers? 34And having looked around at those sitting around Him in a circle, He says, “Behold, My mother and My brothers! 35For whoever shall do the will of God, this is My brother and sister and mother.
