Exodus 24
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
1And to Moshe he said, “Come up to LORD JEHOVAH, you and Ahron and Nadab and Abihu and seventy men of the Elders of Israel, and you shall worship from a distance. 2And Moshe alone will come near before LORD JEHOVAH, and they will not approach, and the people will not come up with him.

3And Moshe came and he related to the people all of the statements of LORD JEHOVAH and all the judgments, and all the people cried out in one voice, and they said, “Everything that LORD JEHOVAH says, we shall do!” 4And Moshe wrote all of the statements of LORD JEHOVAH, and he arose at dawn and built an altar on the outskirts of the mountain and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel. 5And he sent the youths of the children of Israel and they offered up burning peace offerings and they sacrificed peace sacrifices, bullocks to LORD JEHOVAH. 6And Moshe took half of the blood and cast it into basins and half of the blood he poured on the altar. 7And he took the Book of the Covenant and he read before the people and they said, “Everything that LORD JEHOVAH said, we will hear and we will do” 8And Moshe took the blood and he sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the Covenant that LORD JEHOVAH covenanted with you by all of these words.”

9And Moshe and Ahron and Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the Elders of Israel came up: 10And they saw the God of Israel, and under his feet there was as the work of tile of sapphire, and like the color of the sky in purity. 11And upon the Elders of the children of Israel he did not stretch his hand, and they saw God, and they ate and they drank.

12And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe, “Come up to me to the mountain and be there and I shall give to you tablets of stone and the laws and the commandments that I have written to teach them.” 13And Moshe stood and Hoshea his Minister, and Moshe came up to the mountain of God. 14And to the Elders he said, “Wait for us here until we return to you; and behold, Ahron and Khur are with you; he that has a matter, he will come before them.” 15And Moshe came up to the mountain and a cloud covered it. 16And the glory of LORD JEHOVAH dwelt on the mountain of Sinai and a cloud covered it six days, and LORD JEHOVAH called Moshe on the seventh day from within the cloud. 17And he saw the glory of LORD JEHOVAH as fire that burned on the top of the mountain before the eyes of the entire house of Israel. 18And Moshe entered within the cloud and he came up to the mountain and Moshe was in the mountain forty days and forty nights.
