Berean Study BibleInternational Standard Version
For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Death of the Son.” A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will recount all Your wonders.1I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart, I will declare all your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.2I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praises to your name, Most High!
When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You.3When my enemies turn back, they will stumble and perish before you.
For You have upheld my just cause; You sit on Your throne judging righteously.4For you have brought about justice for me and my cause; you sit on the throne judging righteously.
You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever.5You rebuked the nations, you destroyed the wicked, you wiped out their name forever and ever.
The enemy has come to eternal ruin, and You have uprooted their cities; the very memory of them has vanished.6The enemy has perished, reduced to ruins forever. You uprooted their cities, the very memory of them vanished.
But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment.7But the LORD sits on his throne forever; his throne is established for judgment.
He judges the world with justice; He governs the people with equity.8He will judge the world righteously and make just decisions for the people.
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.9The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of distress.
Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.10Those who know your name will trust you, for you have not forsaken those who seek you, LORD.
Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim His deeds among the nations.11Sing praises to the LORD who dwells in Zion; declare his mighty deeds among the peoples.
For the Avenger of bloodshed remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.12As an avenger of blood, he remembers them; he has not forgotten the cry of the afflicted.
Be merciful to me, O LORD; see how my enemies afflict me! Lift me up from the gates of death,13Be gracious to me, LORD, take note of my affliction, because of those who hate me. You snatch me away from the gates of death,
that I may declare all Your praises—that within the gates of Daughter Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.14so I may declare everything for which you should be praised in the gates of the daughter of Zion, so I will rejoice in your deliverance.
The nations have fallen into a pit of their making; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.15The nations have sunk down into the pit they made, their feet are ensnared in the trap they set.
The LORD is known by the justice He brings; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. Higgaion Selah16The LORD has made himself known, executing judgment. The wicked are ensnared by what their hands have made. Interlude
The wicked will return to Sheol—all the nations who forget God.17The wicked will turn back to where the dead are — all the nations that have forgotten God.
For the needy will not always be forgotten; nor the hope of the oppressed forever dashed.18For he will not always overlook the plight of the poor, nor will the hope of the afflicted perish forever.
Rise up, O LORD, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your presence.19Rise up, LORD, do not let man prevail! The nations will be judged in your presence.
Lay terror upon them, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. Selah20Make them afraid, LORD, Let the nations know that they are only human. Interlude
