Again I lifted up my eyes and saw before me a flying scroll.1Then I looked up and saw a flying scroll!
“What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”2And the angel asked me, "What do you see?" I answered him, "I'm looking at a flying scroll. It's 20 cubits long and ten cubits wide."
Then he told me, “This is the curse that is going out over the face of all the land, for according to one side of the scroll, every thief will be removed; and according to the other side, every perjurer will be removed.3He responded to me, "This is the curse that is going out over the surface of the whole earth, because, according to this side of the scroll, all thieves will be ejected, and according to the other side of the scroll, all liars will be ejected."
I will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by My name. It will remain inside his house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”4"I am bringing this about," declares the LORD of the Heavenly Armies. "The curse will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who lies in my name. The curse will remain in his house until that house has been completely destroyed, right down to its timber and stones."
Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Now lift up your eyes and see what is approaching.”5Then the angel who had been talking with me stepped forward and told me, "Please look up and see what's going out."
“What is it?” I asked. And he replied, “A measuring basket is going forth.” Then he continued, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”6So I asked, "What is it?" He replied, "This is a basket making its appearance." He also said, "This is what it appears to be in the entire land."
And behold, the cover of lead was raised, and there was a woman sitting inside the basket.7Look, a round lead cover was being lifted, and there was one woman seated inside the basket!
“This is Wickedness,” he said. And he shoved her down into the basket, pushing down the lead cover over its opening.8And the angel said, "This is evil!" So he shoved her back into the basket and snapped the round, lead cover over the opening.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw two women approaching, with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.9Then I looked up to see two women coming forward with the wind filling their wings. (They had wings like those of a stork.) They took up the basket, holding it between the earth and sky.
“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.10So I asked the angel who was talking to me, "Where are they taking the basket?"
“To build a house for it in the land of Shinar,” he told me. “And when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its pedestal.”11He answered me, "To the land of Shinar, so they can build a temple to the woman in the basket. Then when its preparations are complete, the basket will be set there in its place."
