Again I lifted up my eyes and saw before me a flying scroll.1I looked again, and there before me was a flying scroll.
“What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”2He asked me, "What do you see?" I answered, "I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide."
Then he told me, “This is the curse that is going out over the face of all the land, for according to one side of the scroll, every thief will be removed; and according to the other side, every perjurer will be removed.3And he said to me, "This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished.
I will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by My name. It will remain inside his house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”4The LORD Almighty declares, 'I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.'"
Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Now lift up your eyes and see what is approaching.”5Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, "Look up and see what is appearing."
“What is it?” I asked. And he replied, “A measuring basket is going forth.” Then he continued, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”6I asked, "What is it?" He replied, "It is a basket." And he added, "This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land."
And behold, the cover of lead was raised, and there was a woman sitting inside the basket.7Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman!
“This is Wickedness,” he said. And he shoved her down into the basket, pushing down the lead cover over its opening.8He said, "This is wickedness," and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed its lead cover down on it.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw two women approaching, with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.9Then I looked up--and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.
“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.10"Where are they taking the basket?" I asked the angel who was speaking to me.
“To build a house for it in the land of Shinar,” he told me. “And when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its pedestal.”11He replied, "To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When the house is ready, the basket will be set there in its place."
