After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. | 9After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. |
And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” | 10And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” |
And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. And they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God, | 11And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. 14“Sir,” I answered, “you know.” So he replied, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. | 14And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. |
For this reason, they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. | 15“That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter. |
‘Never again will they hunger, and never will they thirst; nor will the sun beat down upon them, nor any scorching heat.’ | 16They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. |
For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd. ‘He will lead them to springs of living water,’ and ‘God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ ” | 17For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” |
