2An overseer, therefore, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, | 2The overseer then must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher, |
3not an excessive drinker, not a bully but gentle, not quarrelsome, not greedy. | 3not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money. |
