| 1"Set aside the month of Abib and observe the Passover to the LORD your God, because the LORD your God brought you out of Egypt by night in the month of Abib. | 1Observe the month of Aviv and celebrate the Passover of the LORD your God, because in the month of Aviv he brought you out of Egypt by night. |

| 3Do not eat leavened bread with it. For seven days you are to eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of hardship--because you left the land of Egypt in a hurry--so that you may remember for the rest of your life the day you left the land of Egypt. | 3Do not eat it with bread made with yeast, but for seven days eat unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left Egypt in haste--so that all the days of your life you may remember the time of your departure from Egypt. |

There you must sacrifice the Passover in the evening, when the sun goes down, on the anniversary of your departure from Egypt. |
| 7You are to cook and eat it in the place the LORD your God chooses, and you are to return to your tents in the morning. | 7Roast it and eat it at the place the LORD your God will choose. Then in the morning return to your tents. |
| 8Eat unleavened bread for six days. On the seventh day there is to be a solemn assembly to the LORD your God; do not do any work. | 8For six days eat unleavened bread and on the seventh day hold an assembly to the LORD your God and do no work. |
| 9"You are to count seven weeks, counting the weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain. | 9Count off seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. |

| 11Rejoice before the LORD your God in the place where he chooses to have his name dwell--you, your son and daughter, your male and female slave, the Levite within your city gates, as well as the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow among you. | 11And rejoice before the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name--you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, the Levites in your towns, and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows living among you. |

| 16"All your males are to appear three times a year before the LORD your God in the place he chooses: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters. No one is to appear before the LORD empty-handed. | 16Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the LORD empty-handed: |
| 17Everyone must appear with a gift suited to his means, according to the blessing the LORD your God has given you. | 17Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you. |
| 18"Appoint judges and officials for your tribes in all your towns the LORD your God is giving you. They are to judge the people with righteous judgment. | 18Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the LORD your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. |
| 19Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. | 19Do not pervert justice or show partiality. | 20Pursue justice and justice alone, so that you will live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you. | 20Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you. |
| 21"Do not set up an Asherah of any kind of wood next to the altar you will build for the LORD your God, | 21Do not set up any wooden Asherah pole beside the altar you build to the LORD your God, |
| 22and do not set up a sacred pillar; the LORD your God hates them. | 22and do not erect a sacred stone, for these the LORD your God hates. |
