ESV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
O LORD my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,1A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite. O LORD my God, I take refuge in You; save me and deliver me from all my pursuers,
lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.2or they will shred my soul like a lion and tear me to pieces with no one to rescue me.
O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands,3O LORD my God, if I have done this, if injustice is on my hands,
if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,4if I have rewarded my ally with evil, if I have plundered my foe without cause,
let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground and lay my glory in the dust. Selah5then may my enemy pursue me and overtake me; may he trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust. Selah
Arise, O LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.6Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; rise up against the fury of my enemies. Awake, my God, and ordain judgment.
Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about you; over it return on high.7Let the assembled peoples gather around You; take Your seat over them on high.
The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.8The LORD judges the peoples; vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and integrity.
Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God!9Put an end to the evil of the wicked, but establish the righteous, O righteous God who searches hearts and minds.
My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.10My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.11God is a righteous judge and a God who feels indignation each day.
If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and readied his bow;12If one does not repent, God will sharpen His sword; He has bent and strung His bow.
he has prepared for him his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts.13He has prepared His deadly weapons; He ordains His arrows with fire.
Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies.14Behold, the wicked man travails with evil; he conceives trouble and births falsehood.
He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made.15He has dug a hole and hollowed it out; he has fallen into a pit of his own making.
His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends.16His trouble recoils on himself, and his violence falls on his own head.
I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.17I will thank the LORD for His righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
