English Standard Version | King James Bible |
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. | 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. |
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. | 2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. |
For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. | 3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. |
But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. | 4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. |
For each will have to bear his own load. | 5For every man shall bear his own burden. |
Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. | 6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. |
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. | 7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. |
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. | 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. |
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. | 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. | 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. | 11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. |
It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. | 12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. |
For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. | 13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. |
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. | 14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. |
For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. | 15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. |
And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. | 16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. |
From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. | 17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen. | 18Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. |
