| 2Let Israel celebrate its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. | 2May Israel rejoice in its Maker, and Zion's descendants in their King! |
| 3Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and lyre. | 3May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres. |
| 4For Yahweh takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the humble with salvation. | 4For the LORD is pleased with his people; he beautifies the afflicted with salvation. |
| 5Let the godly celebrate in triumphal glory; let them shout for joy on their beds. | 5May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches. |
