Bildad from Shuah responded and said: | 1Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: |
"Dominion and fear belong to God; who fashions peace in his high heaven. | 2"Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven. |
Is there any limit to his armies? On whom does his light not shine? | 3Can his forces be numbered? On whom does his light not rise? |
How can a human being become right with God? How can a human being be pure? | 4How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure? |
Behold, even the moon isn't bright, and the stars aren't pure in his eyes. | 5If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes, |
How much less is man, who is only a maggot, or a man's children, who are only worms!" | 6how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot-- a human being, who is only a worm!" |
