| 1Those who are trusting in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be overthrown. They remain forever. | 1A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. |
| 2Just as mountains encircle Jerusalem, so the LORD encircles his people, from now to eternity. | 2As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore. |
| 3For evil's scepter will not rest on the land that has been allotted to the righteous, and so the righteous will not direct themselves to do wrong. | 3The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil. |
| 4LORD, do good to those who are good, and to those who are upright in heart. | 4LORD, do good to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart. |
