Psalm 147
ISV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew International Version
Hallelujah! It is good to sing praise to our God, and it is fitting to sing glorious praise.1Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem; he gathers together the outcasts of Israel.2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their injuries.3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He keeps track of the number of stars, assigning names to all of them.4He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Our Lord is great, and rich in power; his understanding has no limitation.5Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
The LORD supports the afflicted while he casts the wicked to the ground.6The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving, and compose music to our God with the lyre.7Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.
He shields the heavens with clouds, preparing rain for the earth and making grass grow on the hills.8He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives wild animals their food, including the young ravens when they cry.9He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
He takes no delight in the strength of a horse, and gains no pleasure in the runner's swiftness. 10His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
But the LORD is pleased with those who fear him, with those who depend on his gracious love.11the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Glorify the LORD, Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion!12Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.
For he has strengthened the bars of your gates, blessing your children within you.13He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
He grants peace within your borders, satisfying you with the finest of wheat.14He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
He sends out his command to the earth, making his word go forth quickly.15He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
He supplies snow like wool, scattering frost like ashes.16He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
He casts down his ice crystals like bread fragments. Who can endure his freezing cold?17He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
He sends out his word and melts them. He makes his wind blow and the water flows.18He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.
He declares his words to Jacob, his statutes and decrees to Israel.19He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.
He has not dealt with any other nation like this; they never knew his decrees. Hallelujah!20He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
