Psalm 14
KJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleEnglish Standard Version
1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.1The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.
2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.2The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.
3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.3They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.4Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the LORD?
5There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.5There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous.
6Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.6You would shame the plans of the poor, but the LORD is his refuge.
7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.7Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
