Psalm 32
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
1A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.1How blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.2How blessed is the person against whom the LORD does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.3When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away by my groaning all day long.
4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.4For your hand was heavy upon me day and night; my strength was exhausted as in a summer drought. Interlude
5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.5My sin I acknowledged to you; my iniquity I did not hide. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin! Interlude
6For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.6Therefore every godly person should pray to you at such a time. Surely a flood of great waters will not reach him.
7Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.7You are my hiding place; you will deliver me from trouble and surround me with shouts of deliverance. Interlude
8I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.8I will instruct you and teach you concerning the path you should walk; I will direct you with my eye.
9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.9Don't be like a horse or mule, without understanding. They are held in check by a bit and bridle in their mouths; otherwise they will not remain near you.
10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.10The wicked have many sorrows, but gracious love surrounds those who trust in the LORD.
11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.11Righteous ones, be glad in the LORD and rejoice! Shout for joy, all of you who are upright in heart!
