Psalm 33
KJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew International Version
Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.1Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.2Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.3Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.4For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.5The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.6By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.7He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.8Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.9For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.10The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.11But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.13From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.14from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.15he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.16No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.17A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;18But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.19to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.20We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.21In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.22May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
