King James Bible | New Living Translation |
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. | 1The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. |
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. | 2He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. |
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. | 3He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. |
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. | 4Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. |
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. | 5You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. |
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. | 6Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. |
