King James Bible | New Living Translation |
To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. | 1Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! |
For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. | 2For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth. |
He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. | 3He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet. |
He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. | 4He chose the Promised Land as our inheritance, the proud possession of Jacob’s descendants, whom he loves. Interlude |
God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. | 5God has ascended with a mighty shout. The LORD has ascended with trumpets blaring. |
Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. | 6Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises! |
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. | 7For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a psalm. |
God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. | 8God reigns above the nations, sitting on his holy throne. |
The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted. | 9The rulers of the world have gathered together with the people of the God of Abraham. For all the kings of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere. |
