Psalm 36
NASB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995English Standard Version
For the choir director. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes.1Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.
For it flatters him in his own eyes Concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it.2For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.3The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
He plans wickedness upon his bed; He sets himself on a path that is not good; He does not despise evil.4He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.
Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.5Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgments are like a great deep. O LORD, You preserve man and beast.6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.7How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.8They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.
O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.10Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart!
Let not the foot of pride come upon me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.11Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There the doers of iniquity have fallen; They have been thrust down and cannot rise.12There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise.
