New American Standard Bible 1995New Living Translation
Then I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, there was a flying scroll.1I looked up again and saw a scroll flying through the air.
And he said to me, "What do you see?" And I answered, "I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits."2“What do you see?” the angel asked. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied. “It appears to be about 30 feet long and 15 feet wide. ”
Then he said to me, "This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side.3Then he said to me, “This scroll contains the curse that is going out over the entire land. One side of the scroll says that those who steal will be banished from the land; the other side says that those who swear falsely will be banished from the land.
"I will make it go forth," declares the LORD of hosts, "and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and consume it with its timber and stones."4And this is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: I am sending this curse into the house of every thief and into the house of everyone who swears falsely using my name. And my curse will remain in that house and completely destroy it—even its timbers and stones.” A Woman in a Basket
Then the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, "Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth."5Then the angel who was talking with me came forward and said, “Look up and see what’s coming.”
I said, "What is it?" And he said, "This is the ephah going forth." Again he said, "This is their appearance in all the land6“What is it?” I asked. He replied, “It is a basket for measuring grain, and it’s filled with the sins of everyone throughout the land.”
(and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah."7Then the heavy lead cover was lifted off the basket, and there was a woman sitting inside it.
Then he said, "This is Wickedness!" And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its opening.8The angel said, “The woman’s name is Wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and closed the heavy lid again.
Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.9Then I looked up and saw two women flying toward us, gliding on the wind. They had wings like a stork, and they picked up the basket and flew into the sky.
I said to the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the ephah?"10“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel.
Then he said to me, "To build a temple for her in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal."11He replied, “To the land of Babylonia, where they will build a temple for the basket. And when the temple is ready, they will set the basket there on its pedestal.”
