| 2Let Israel rejoice in their Creator! Let the people of Zion delight in their king! | 2Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. |
| 3Let them praise his name with dancing! Let them sing praises to him to the accompaniment of the tambourine and harp! | 3Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. |
| 4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them. | 4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation. |
| 5Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! Let them shout for joy upon their beds! | 5Let the saints exult in glory; let them shout for joy upon their beds. |
| 6May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand, | 6May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a double-edged sword in their hands, |
| 7in order to take revenge on the nations, and punish foreigners. | 7to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, |
| 8They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles, | 8to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with shackles of iron, |
| 9and execute the judgment to which their enemies have been sentenced. All his loyal followers will be vindicated. Praise the LORD! | 9to execute the judgment written against them. This honor is for all His saints. Hallelujah! |
