| 1As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One, and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king-- | 1The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. |
| 2I say this about the LORD, my shelter and my stronghold, my God in whom I trust-- | 2I will say concerning the LORD, who is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust: |
| 3he will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the destructive plague. | 3He himself will rescue you from the bird trap, from the destructive plague. |
| 4He will shelter you with his wings; you will find safety under his wings. His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall. | 4He will cover you with his feathers; you will take refuge under his wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield. |
| 5You need not fear the terrors of the night, the arrow that flies by day, | 5You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day, |
