Psalm 27
NIV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionChristian Standard Bible
Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?1The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom should I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life--whom should I dread?
When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.2When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.3Though an army deploys against me, my heart will not be afraid; though a war breaks out against me, I will still be confident.
One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.4I have asked one thing from the LORD; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the LORD and seeking him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.5For he will conceal me in his shelter in the day of adversity; he will hide me under the cover of his tent; he will set me high on a rock.
Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.6Then my head will be high above my enemies around me; I will offer sacrifices in his tent with shouts of joy. I will sing and make music to the LORD.
Hear my voice when I call, LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.7LORD, hear my voice when I call; be gracious to me and answer me.
My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek.8My heart says this about you: "Seek his face." LORD, I will seek your face.
Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior.9Do not hide your face from me; do not turn your servant away in anger. You have been my helper; do not leave me or abandon me, God of my salvation.
Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.10Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD cares for me.
Teach me your way, LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.11Because of my adversaries, show me your way, LORD, and lead me on a level path.
Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations.12Do not give me over to the will of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing violence.
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.13I am certain that I will see the LORD's goodness in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.14Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the LORD.
