For the director of music. A song. A psalm. Shout for joy to God, all the earth!1For the choir director. A song. A psalm. Shout joyfully to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.2Sing about the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.
Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.3Say to God, "How awe-inspiring are Your works! Your enemies will cringe before You because of Your great strength.
All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name."4All the earth will worship You and sing praise to You. They will sing praise to Your name." Selah
Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!5Come and see the wonders of God; His acts for humanity are awe-inspiring.
He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot-- come, let us rejoice in him.6He turned the sea into dry land, and they crossed the river on foot. There we rejoiced in Him.
He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations-- let not the rebellious rise up against him.7He rules forever by His might; He keeps His eye on the nations. The rebellious should not exalt themselves. Selah
Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;8Praise our God, you peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard.
he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.9He keeps us alive and does not allow our feet to slip.
For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.10For You, God, tested us; You refined us as silver is refined.
You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs.11You lured us into a trap; You placed burdens on our backs.
You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.12You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us out to abundance.
I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you--13I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows
vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.14that my lips promised and my mouth spoke during my distress.
I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats.15I will offer You fattened sheep as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will sacrifice oxen with goats. Selah
Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.16Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell what He has done for me.
I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.17I cried out to Him with my mouth, and praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;18If I had been aware of malice in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.19However, God has listened; He has paid attention to the sound of my prayer.
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!20May God be praised! He has not turned away my prayer or turned His faithful love from me.
