| 2Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King. | 2Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King. |
| 3God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress. | 3God, in her palaces, Has made Himself known as a stronghold. |
| 4When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together, | 4For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together. |
| 5they saw her and were astounded; they fled in terror. | 5They saw it, then they were amazed; They were terrified, they fled in alarm. |
