New King James Version | Berean Study Bible |
A Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. | 1A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge. |
O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” | 2I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.” |
As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” | 3As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides. |
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips. | 4Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips. |
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. | 5The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure. |
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance. | 6The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful. |
I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. | 7I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me. |
I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. | 8I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. |
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. | 9Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely. |
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. | 10For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. |
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. | 11You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand. |
