Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.1Then I lifted up my eyes and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.
So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”2“Where are you going?” I asked. “To measure Jerusalem,” he replied, “and to determine its width and length.”
And there was the angel who talked with me, going out; and another angel was coming out to meet him,3Then the angel who was speaking with me went out, and another angel came out to meet him
who said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.4and said to him, “Run and tell that young man: ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the multitude of men and livestock within it.
For I,’ says the LORD, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”5For I will be a wall of fire around it, declares the LORD, and I will be the glory within it.’ ”
“Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,” says the LORD; “for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven,” says the LORD.6“Get up! Get up! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven,” declares the LORD.
“Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.”7“Get up, O Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the Daughter of Babylon!”
For thus says the LORD of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.8For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “After His Glory has sent Me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye—
For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me.9I will surely wave My hand over them, so that they will become plunder for their own servants. Then you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me.”
“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD.10“Shout for joy and be glad, O Daughter of Zion, for I am coming to dwell among you,” declares the LORD.
“Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.11“On that day many nations will join themselves to the LORD, and they will become My people. I will dwell among you, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you.
And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem.12And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His portion in the Holy Land, and He will once again choose Jerusalem.
Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!”13Be silent before the LORD, all people, for He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”
