Psalm 142
NLT Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNET Bible
1I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy.1A well-written song by David, when he was in the cave; a prayer. To the LORD I cry out; to the LORD I plead for mercy.
2I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.2I pour out my lament before him; I tell him about my troubles.
3When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.3Even when my strength leaves me, you watch my footsteps. In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
4I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.4Look to the right and see! No one cares about me. I have nowhere to run; no one is concerned about my life.
5Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.5I cry out to you, O LORD; I say, "You are my shelter, my security in the land of the living."
6Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.6Listen to my cry for help, for I am in serious trouble! Rescue me from those who chase me, for they are stronger than I am.
7Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. The godly will crowd around me, for you are good to me.”7Free me from prison, that I may give thanks to your name. Because of me the godly will assemble, for you will vindicate me.
