New Living Translation | New International Version |
O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? | 1For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? |
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? | 2How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? |
Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. | 3Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, |
Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall. | 4and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall. |
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. | 5But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. |
I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. | 6I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me. |
