New Living Translation | English Standard Version |
O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? | 1How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? |
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? | 2How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? |
Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. | 3Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, |
Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall. | 4lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. |
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. | 5But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. |
I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. | 6I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me. |
