Applying law righteousness daily?
How can we apply the understanding of law righteousness in our daily lives?

The Law’s Original Demand

Romans 10:5 — “For concerning the righteousness that is by the law, Moses writes: ‘The man who does these things will live by them.’”

• Quoting Leviticus 18:5, God set out a perfect standard: obey every command, continually, and life is the reward.

• The standard never changed (James 2:10). Missing once means falling short entirely.

Why We Cannot Achieve Law Righteousness

Romans 3:20 — “No one will be justified in His sight by works of the law.”

Galatians 3:10 — Relying on law-keeping places us “under a curse.”

• Our flesh is “weakened” (Romans 8:3); the law exposes sin, it doesn’t heal it.

Christ Fulfills the Law for Us

Romans 8:3-4 — God sent His Son so “the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 — In Christ we “become the righteousness of God.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 — Salvation is “the gift of God… not by works.”

Application: We rest our confidence entirely on Jesus’ completed obedience, not our performance.

Daily Living in Light of Law Righteousness

Because Christ met the law’s demand, we now:

1. Walk by the Spirit, not the flesh (Romans 8:4).

2. Serve out of gratitude, not fear (Romans 6:14).

3. Fulfill the law through love (Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 22:37-40).

Practical Steps for Today

• Start each morning by confessing: “My righteousness is in Christ alone.”

• When tempted to prove yourself, read Galatians 3:10-12 aloud.

• Replace self-reliance with prayerful dependence: “Lord, empower me by Your Spirit.”

• Express love tangibly—help a neighbor, forgive quickly. Love is the law lived out.

• End the day with gratitude: list specific ways God’s grace, not your works, carried you.
