How can God help us in battles today?
In what ways can we trust God to fight our battles today?

Looking Back to Move Forward

Deuteronomy 11:4 reminds Israel of “how He caused the waters of the Red Sea to engulf them as they pursued you, and how the LORD has brought lasting ruin on them”. That historic rescue is more than a memory; it is proof that the same God still intervenes decisively for His people.

What Deuteronomy 11:4 Reveals About God’s Battle Strategy

• He chooses the battleground: Egypt’s chariots thought the sea was an escape route; God turned it into their grave.

• He uses creation as His weapon: wind, water, even time itself obey Him (Joshua 10:13).

• He delivers a final, irreversible victory: “lasting ruin.” When God finishes a battle, the enemy cannot regroup.

Ways God Fights Our Battles Today

1. By standing between us and danger

 • Psalm 46:1—“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.”

 • Exodus 14:19-20—The pillar of cloud moved behind Israel, blocking Egypt.

2. By overwhelming forces we cannot match

 • 2 Chronicles 20:15—“The battle is not yours, but God’s.”

 • Romans 8:31—“If God is for us, who can be against us?”

3. By silencing accusations and spiritual opposition

 • Colossians 2:14-15—Christ “disarmed the powers and authorities.”

4. By turning enemy plans against themselves

 • Esther 7:10—Haman is hanged on his own gallows.

 • Psalm 7:15-16—the wicked fall into the pit they dig.

5. By granting endurance until the victory is visible

 • Isaiah 40:31—those who hope in the LORD “will run and not grow weary.”

Our Role While God Fights

• Stand firm, not passive—Exodus 14:13, Ephesians 6:13.

• Stay obedient—Israel had to walk into the parted sea; faith steps activate divine intervention.

• Pray and praise—2 Chronicles 20:21 shows praise teams leading the charge.

• Refuse rival trusts—Psalm 20:7 contrasts chariots/horses with the name of the LORD.

• Put on spiritual armor—Ephesians 6:10-18; God supplies the protection, we must wear it.

Promises to Anchor Your Faith

Isaiah 54:17—“No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”

Psalm 34:7—“The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them.”

John 16:33—“In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Hebrews 13:5—“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”

Living It Out Today

• Identify the “Egypt” chasing you—fear, sin, opposition, uncertainty. Name it before God.

• Replace frantic effort with focused trust—surrender control of outcomes.

• Speak Scripture aloud when pressure mounts; it aligns emotions with truth.

• Celebrate small breakthroughs as evidence that the sea is already starting to part.

• Keep a record—like Israel’s memorial songs (Exodus 15), journal each deliverance to fuel future faith.

Because the God who swallowed chariots still sits on the throne, every believer can face conflict confident that the ultimate outcome is already secured by His mighty hand.
