How can we show God's love to all?
In what ways can we demonstrate God's love to both "evil and good"?

The Foundational Verse

“...that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. For He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:45)

Why Love Both Evil and Good?

• Reflects God’s own impartial care (Matthew 5:45)

• Reveals the gospel lived out—Christ died “while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8)

• Displays true sonship; love proves we belong to the Father (1 John 4:19–21)

Practical Ways to Demonstrate God’s Love

1. Impartial Kindness

 • Everyday courtesies—smile, greet, listen.

 • Galatians 6:10: “As we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone...”

2. Generous Provision

 • Share resources, meals, skills.

 • Proverbs 25:21: “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat...”

3. Intercessory Prayer

 • Pray blessing, not harm (Luke 6:28).

 • 1 Timothy 2:1–4—supplications “for all people” so they may be saved.

4. Active Service

 • Help with practical needs—childcare, repairs, hospital visits.

 • Matthew 5:41—go the second mile even for those who exploit.

5. Truthful, Gentle Speech

 • Speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

 • Avoid gossip and harshness; use edifying words (Proverbs 15:1).

6. Hospitable Welcome

 • Luke 14:13—include “the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind.”

7. Costly Forgiveness

 • Release offenses as Christ forgave us (Colossians 3:13).

 • Refuse vengeance; overcome evil with good (Romans 12:19–21).

8. Consistent Integrity

 • Deal honestly in business, keep promises (Proverbs 11:1).

 • Integrity blesses both righteous and unrighteous observers.

9. Patient Endurance

 • Bear insults without retaliation (1 Peter 2:23).

 • Trust God to judge justly; keep loving anyway.

10. Bold Gospel Witness

 • Share the message of repentance and faith (Acts 20:21).

 • Love urges us to warn lovingly and offer salvation to all (2 Corinthians 5:14–15).

Guarding the Heart While Loving

• Stay rooted in Scripture and prayer (Psalm 119:9–11).

• Seek fellowship for accountability (Hebrews 10:24–25).

• Remember boundaries—love does not mean enabling sin (Romans 12:9).

The Fruit of Obedient Love

• Makes the Father’s character visible (John 13:35).

• Softens hardened hearts (Romans 2:4).

• Stores eternal reward (Matthew 5:12).
