How can we show truth in communities?
In what ways can we testify to the truth in our communities today?

A King Who Came to Testify

“Then You are a king!” Pilate said.

“You say that I am a king,” Jesus answered. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world: to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice.” (John 18:37)

Jesus’ own mission is our model: He entered history to make truth unmistakable. We take His words at face value and follow His example.

Hearing His Voice Today

John 14:6—He is “the way and the truth and the life.”

John 10:27—“My sheep listen to My voice.”

Because Scripture is true in every detail, we recognize His voice by opening the Bible, submitting to it, and letting it shape what we say and do in public.

Ways We Can Testify to the Truth in Our Communities

• Speak the gospel plainly—Romans 1:16.

• Live with visible integrity—1 Peter 2:12.

• Show sacrificial love—John 13:34-35.

• Defend the vulnerable—Micah 6:8.

• Engage culture with wisdom—Colossians 4:5-6.

• Stand against falsehood—Ephesians 4:25.

• Use digital platforms responsibly—Philippians 4:8 applied online.

• Serve together in the local church—Hebrews 10:24-25.

Words That Reveal the Gospel

• Personal conversations: “Always be prepared to give a defense…with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).

• Public proclamation: preach and teach so “faith comes by hearing” (Romans 10:17).

• Everyday speech: “Speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15) builds bridges rather than walls.

Lives That Confirm the Message

• Integrity at work and school: “Whatever you do…do it for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23).

• Generous hospitality: open homes point neighbors to the Father’s open arms (Romans 12:13).

• Consistent ethics: honesty, purity, and fidelity silence accusations (Titus 2:7-8).

• Practical service: meeting needs so that “they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father” (Matthew 5:16).

Defending Truth in the Public Square

• Study diligently—“accurately handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

• Address cultural lies with biblical clarity—Isaiah 5:20 warns against calling evil good.

• Participate in civic processes with conviction and civility—Jeremiah 29:7 seeks the welfare of the city.

• Uphold life, marriage, and religious freedom as created realities—Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4-6.

Strengthened and Sent by the Spirit

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses” (Acts 1:8). We never testify alone; the Spirit supplies boldness (2 Timothy 1:7) and convicts hearts (John 16:8).
